Scottish Government Early Years campaign launches

The Scottish Government launched a new campaign on Friday, 25th September, which aims to encourage parents and carers of children aged 0-3 years to play, talk and read together everyday.

Play, Talk, Read is the first campaign of its kind in Scotland to recognise the important role of parents and carers during our children’s first years. The campaign highlights that playing, talking and reading with your child every day helps provide vital skills that make lifelong learning easier and essentially build a more successful life in the long term.

The integrated Play, Talk, Read campaign consists of a series of TV, radio and outdoor advertising created by The Leith Agency, an informative, interactive website designed by The Gate and PR provided by Stripe Communications.

Hotel Missoni, the new luxury hotel concept from The Rezidor Hotel Group, has appointed Stripe Communications to promote the official launch and ongoing PR for their first hotel, located in Edinburgh. Stripe’s remit includes media relations, digital PR, word of mouth promotion and events. The account will see them working alongside Modus Publicity in London who will continue to handle European PR for the Hotel Missoni brand. Stripe Managing Director Juliet Simpson says; “Edinburgh’s Hotel Missoni is the first of its kind in the world, so we’re incredibly lucky to have them here in Scotland. To be involved in the evolution of a new global brand is always exciting and over the coming months we’re looking forward to establishing the hotel as the ultimate destination for locals and visitors to the city looking for something a little different.”

Carina Svensen, General Manager, Hotel Missoni Edinburgh says; “Since our soft launch in June we have been keeping a fairly low profile so we could fine tune our product before the official launch. The team at Stripe not only had the relevant experience, but more importantly they shared our passion for doing things differently and standing out from the crowd”.

Nestled in the heart of Edinburgh’s old town, the hotel has been a collaboration between The Rezidor Hotel Group and creative director for Hotel Missoni, Rosita Missoni – one of the original founders of Missoni. The six-floor property boasts 129 bedrooms and 7 suites, each level has a different colour scheme reflecting the bold Missoni brand. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer great views of the historic streets below. State of the art facilities in every room include a Delonghi Nespresso machine, Bang and Olufsen flatscreen TV, 24-hour room service and a large safe.

On the ground floor guests will find Bar Missoni, a classic cocktail bar seen through very modern eyes, which serves food and drinks all day, and upstairs on the mezzanine level is Cucina restaurant. The hotel also offers business facilities including three meeting rooms and a breakout area with high-backed sofas on the mezzanine level.
